People of Rajasthan makes state look Colorful

North India is an inseparable part of rajasthan culture.
Colorful Rajasthan is a vibrant patchwork of ancient
 traditions and culture and of course the clothes and
 dresses worn by the people of Rajasthan.
The costumes and dresses of the native Rajasthanis are
a spectacular combination of cultural lineage and weather proof designing.
The Rajasthani garments are loose and flowing clothes and are cut out to cover up most of the body.During summer season the textiles are soft cottons that provide utmost comfort.
While winters are extremely cold and woolen shawls, scarves and cloaks are draped by men and women to protect themselves from the merciless temperature falls.The popular traditional dresses and costumes of Rajasthan, North India include the Banda, Dhoti, Potia, Bugatari, Khol, Angrakhi, Dhabla, Pachewara, Achkan, Burga, Tilak, Skirts and Saris.


The men in rajasthan wear Banda, Bugatari, Pachewara and Khol that forms the traditional costume they also wear special headgears called the pagri or the turban depending upon the climatic condition of the particular region.
The natives of Udaipur, for example wear a flat turban while those from Jaipur sport slanting angular turbans. While those from
 Jodhpur, wear their Saafa (a shorter varietyof turban) with curved bands to the front.
“Dhoti”,is also worn by men, it is a long
 white cloth skillfully worn around the
 waist and draped to form gracefully loose breeches.
An Angrakhi or a Jhari is a jacket like garment worn to cover the upper body.
The tradition of wearing bandhni clothes in Rajasthan, north India has been going on for time immemorial.
At the festival or ritual ceremonies, men wear printed or dyed  “Angarakhas”. Today in Occasions or Ceremonies many people wear dhoti and Angrakhi.

The women attrie  includes ankle length long skirt known as “Ghaghara” teamed up with an upper apparel known as blouse or top and a cotton cloth known as “odhani” that is used as veil. Broad
 colored fabric or “Sinjafis” is  stitched
 underneath the “Ghaghara” to make it
stiff and strong. The width as well as number
 of pleats in the “Ghaghara” signify  woman’s
 prosperity and success. The “Ghagharas”
come in variant vibrant colors and designs.
 However the most famous ones are the dyed
 and the cotton “Ghagharas” decked with mothra,
 laharia and chunari prints.
 In the rural nooks of the state the women are still
 given to wearing long or short flowing and frilly skirts.
While The women who belong to rich families almost wear saris that are either cotton or silk and are embroided.Colored stones, tinsels and silken threads are used to create beautiful floral patterns and traditional motifs and enhance the rich look of the saree.
The Odhni is an integral part of the Rajasthani women's attire usually teamed up with the Ghagra Choli or Lehengas, it is also worn over a saree on special ceremonious occasions.
In bollywood also rajasthni dresses are the first choice of designers as in film "Hum Sath sath Hain" traditional rajasthani dress was carried by actresses in one song. this time again Karishma Kapoor carried Rajasthani dress in" Dangerous Ishq". Rajasthani dress are very much in demand not in indian market but also in international market.

The colorful apparels of women is well complemented by the dazzling jewellery. Jewellery of Rajasthan is unique for their distinct style. Women coming from royal and noble families adore themselves in diamond, gold, jewelleries studded with precious gem stones while the tribal women of Rajasthan use silver, brass and white metal jewelleries. Apart from wearing metal jewellery, women are also seen to use Lac jewellery that are studded with glass pieces. Women of south Rajasthan also use coconut shell bangles with a silver strip at the centre.
Both men and women wear leather footwear known as  ‘Mojaris’ or ‘Jootis’. These shoes are made from the skin of camel, sheep and goat. Intricate embroidery works are embellished on brocade or velvet and use of golden thread, beads and spangles in these patterned footwear make them showy souvenirs.These are soft and extremely comfortable to wear.
